To charge the Gameball, align the triangular end of the Rapid Charger to the corresponding power triangle on the surface of the Gameball. Please note there are two red triangles on the Gameball. Locate the triangle that does not say “air”, and touch the dots on the Rapid Charger to the two matching dots on the Gameball with medium pressure for 15-20 seconds the first time you charge your ball. If your Play Impossible app does not indicate it is actively charging, you may need to release the charger and re-align the connection dots. You may be prompted to update your Gameball with a firmware update. Now that you’re charged up, go out and play!
One Gameball charge will last for approximately 60 minutes of play time, or 4-6 hours at rest.
The AA batteries in the Rapid Charger will charge the Gameball for approximately 200 play sessions.
Firmly press and hold the release button on your Rapid Charger. Pull lanyard until the inner battery holder slides out completely. Insert 2 AA batteries with + end facing towards narrow end of the battery holder. Slide the charger holder back into outer charger sleeve until you hear the release button click into place. You’re back in action.
You can purchase a replacement charger for $9.99 at https://playimpossible.com/charger/. AA batteries not included.
We’ve designed games that appeal to a variety of age ranges, but we think the ideal age range for the Gameball is 9-16.
For kids today, the digital domain is inevitable, but being sedentary doesn’t have to be. Our fun, challenging, and addicting games leverage cutting edge technology to bring physical action to the digital domain. We make a familiar object trackable and enhance it with scoring algorithms, voice technology, and physical games. Now bounce, throw and spin can take on a new dimension of fun as compelling as the most popular video games.

At Play Impossible we are developers, designers and dreamers focused on simplifying complex technology so we can enjoy challenging games that encourage physical play.
From the CEO, Brian Monnin: “We’ve watched how addictive mobile gaming has grown at the expense of fitness. Play Impossible is the culmination of our dream to encourage kids to get off the couch and be mentally and physically challenged by fusing addicting mobile games with active play.” From the Chief Product Designer, Gadi Amit: “The ball is an ageless object and the fun of playing it doesn’t need to be reinvented, instead we’re connecting it to today’s mobile games and mobile-first audience. Starting this company has been a way for me to bring together the physical and digital to create pure and simple joy.”

We are working hard to expand the variety of devices we support. Please be aware that because of the significant number of different models, variants, and manufacturing standards of available devices, Play Impossible can only assure the compatibility of devices that we actively test internally. The list of compatible or tested devices may change at any time and without any notice.
Our technology package includes accelerometers, a magnetometer, and a Bluetooth chip. We use a sophisticated, patented physics engine to analyze Gameball data that powers our in-app games. The power source in the Gameball is a supercapacitor, and our Rapid Charger supplies power to the Gameball with two AA batteries.
We use electronics sensors inside the Gameball to measure physical forces like gravity, the earth's magnetic field, drag, centripetal force, and even the forces you apply to the ball! The Gameball sends that data, via Bluetooth, to the Gameball app where we use some fun math to calculate the results you see.
As with any brand new technology- there are things we continue to learn along the way. We implemented rigorous testing prior to releasing our product to the public, but we know that our proprietary physics engine can always improve. We are continually working to make the measurements and calculations more accurate.
We do not currently have an API available for 3rd party development but it is something we are considering internally. If you or your company is interested in utilizing the Gameball's functionality please reach out to us at info@playimpossible.com.
Without any obstruction, the Gameball can stay connected to a device up to a range of 75 ft, or 22 m. Of course, we live and play in spaces with objects which can obstruct connectivity, so you can expect the range to vary based on your location.
We’re sorry to hear that! Double-check that Bluetooth is enabled on your device and that your Gameball has power by connecting the dots on the Rapid Charger to the corresponding dots on your Gameball. When you are trying to pair, use the Play Impossible app, not your device settings. Bluetooth Low Energy devices like the Gameball do not use the same pairing mechanism as a wireless speaker, for example, so you’ll need to be working within our app. If the Gameball still won’t connect, please contact us by emailing support@playimpossible.com, or by clicking Support in the Play Impossible app.
In order to preserve the privacy of our players, we don’t ask individuals to set up accounts with Play Impossible. No person-specific information is ever collected or stored. Our goal in this is to remove as many barriers to play as possible, and we hope that you enjoy the collaborative and open nature of our games as a result.
Yes to both. We are working to design new games and ways to play with multiple Gameballs and multiple players, so stay tuned for more! To connect and disconnect Gameballs to your device, go to the “Balls” section of the main menu in your app.
Your playtime statistics and habits are recorded so that we can best serve you. We are analyzing use on a weekly basis in order to update our offerings and ensure you have the best experience possible. However, none of what we record is linked to you specifically as an individual user, as you don’t create an account with Play Impossible.
We use Bluetooth technology to connect the Gameball to your device so you can take the Play Impossible system with you on the go!
The technology in the Gameball doesn’t track the location of your ball. We did choose bright colors for the ball for a reason, though!
We’ve designed our games and user experience to minimize screen-time, so the sound effects and voice-coaching are key elements to experiencing the Play Impossible gaming platform to its fullest. When you open the app, music and any other sounds will automatically be paused.
Yes, it is! Please follow all in-app instructions, and let your update run from 0% to 100% uninterrupted.
The Gameball is an inflatable ball, and we recommend that you inflate your ball using a pump and needle to 10 psi for optimal performance.
Treat your Gameball with love and care! If your Gameball gets dirty, clean it with a moist towel. We have designed the Gameball to withstand extended and physical play, but within the confines of the app’s games. The Gameball can and will break if it is abused. The app triggers voice and visual notifications when the ball is being used too physically.
The following should never be done to a Gameball:
- Hit it with a bat or a club
- Punt it
- Spike it into the ground
- Abuse it
- Stand on it
- Sit on it
The Gameball comes with a 90-day limited manufacturer’s warranty. For more details, head to our Warranty Page.
The Gameball is water resistant. It’s made to withstand play outside in light rain, but is not a water toy. If it gets wet, just wipe it off with a towel and play on! Please note that while the Gameball is water resistant, the Rapid Charger is not.
Write to us and we’ll get back to you as quickly as we can!
